Lovense has launched a new in-app function that syncs sex toy vibrations with live World Cup soccer action.

Match Intensity was launched in the Lovense Remote App to coincide with the group stages of the World Cup, taking place in the US, Canada and Mexico, which began on June 28, 2026. The function will be available until the end of the tournament’s final on July 19.

To use Match Intensity you enter Live Match Mode in the Lovense Remote App then connect your Lovense sex toy, such as a vibrator or masturbator, to the app.

Lovense said that the big match experience was built on a “dual-layer vibration system” that gives continuous background vibration intensity, that ebbs and flows based on the pace and intensity of the live match it’s synced to.

An ‘event layer’ then adds specially-designed vibration intensity patterns when certain match events take place, such as goals, penalties being scored and a red card being given to a player. Lovense said that the result was “stronger, more dramatic sensations when the action reaches its peak”.

These days many sextech devices can be synced with almost any video content, so, Match Intensity isn’t enormously ground-breaking. But it is fun to have new vibration patterns go off for specific match events.

It’s all a bit of a World Cup marketing wheeze, of course, and reminds us of the cam site CamSoda allowing sex toys to be synced with zeitgeisty things such as cryptocurrency value rises and falls. CamSoda ran the same playbook with Dogecoin and, memorably, with Super Bowl Sunday.

It’s also perhaps a little odd that Match Intensity wasn’t introduced in time for the World Cup group stage matches, earlier in June. Then again, if anyone had their vibrator synced with Germany’s 7-1 destruction of Curaçao for that June 14 group stage match, things could have got a bit too intense.

At least it’s arrived in time for things to get extremely Messi at the sharp end of the tournament.
