District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore has called upon citizens to take responsibility for environmental protection, pollution control and the conservation of natural resources, stressing that safeguarding a clean and green environment for future generations is a collective responsibility.
Speaking at the release of an awareness poster on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026 at the Collectorate on Wednesday, Mr. Kishore said that environmental conservation should become an integral part of everyday life.
The poster, prepared by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), Visakhapatnam, was unveiled jointly by the Collector and Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi.
Based on this year’s World Environment Day theme, “Inspired by Nature – For Climate, For Our Future,” the poster highlights concerns such as plastic, air, water, soil and noise pollution, as well as construction and demolition waste management.
Among those present were APPCB officials, APEPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Prudhvitej Immadi, Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, VMRDA Commissioner Tej Bharat and other senior officials.
