The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) in connection with a human trafficking syndicate operating from India and Cambodia.
“The syndicate is suspected to be involved in organised human trafficking, cyber fraud, and the laundering of proceeds of crime generated through these illegal activities,” said an agency source.
The ED investigation is based on a First Information Report registered and charge sheets filed by the Delhi police.
“The search operation covers the residential premises of individuals who acted as the Indian recruiters and agents; they also facilitated the trafficking of victims to Cambodia under the pretext of providing overseas employment,” the source said.
