The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president, Mayawati, on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) said that the allegations of embezzlement and misappropriation of offerings from the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya are extremely serious and concerning and added that such individuals should not be spared, but politicising this issue is also incorrect.
“The daily reports in the media about theft, embezzlement, and misappropriation of offerings from the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya are extremely serious and concerning. Such individuals should not be spared, but politicising this issue is also not right,” she wrote on X.
Ms. Mayawati added, “Also, to ensure that there are no further complaints regarding the offerings made in the temple, it would be appropriate to follow the system in place in Ayodhya for accounting of offerings etc. in other famous temples of the country and resolve this issue soon,”.
The BSP chief further cautioned political parties that politicisation of religion is not right in the interest of the country and the people and this is also an appeal to the countrymen.
