After overnight rains lashed Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers across the city, with intense spells likely at one or two places towards the evening or night.
In an impact-based forecast issued on Tuesday morning, the IMD said the rain activity could be accompanied by gusty winds and cautioned of waterlogging and water pooling on roads and in low-lying areas at a few locations. It advised the authorities concerned to remain alert and take necessary measures to clear waterlogged stretches and issue appropriate advisories to minimise inconvenience to the public.
Meanwhile, the overnight rain led to waterlogging in several parts of the city, disrupting traffic and prompting diversion measures. Waterlogging was reported at Shaikpet Nala and on the 100 Feet Road stretch between Jiyaguda and Puranapool, where traffic was diverted and vehicles were allowed only on a single lane towards Puranapul.

Waterlogging was also reported beneath the Manmohan Singh Flyover near Ramdev Baba Mandir at Shivrampally Jagir. Commuters travelling from Nehru Zoological Park and Bahadurpura towards Aramgarh were advised to use the flyover and avoid the road below it.
