Rapido raised $240 Mn in fresh funding in a round led by Prosus, making travel tech the most funded segment this week
In terms of deal count, ecommerce witnessed significant investor traction with five deals recorded under the segment
Seed stage startups saw a capital infusion of $2.6 Mn during the week, down 53.6% from $5.6 Mn raised in the previous week
Indian startup funding momentum witnessed a sharp uptick this week on the back of Rapido’s mega funding round this week. Fifteen startups managed to raise $303 Mn between May 11 to May 15, marking a 129% increase from $132.2 Mn raised across 18 deals last week.
However, barring Rapido’s $240 Mn primary infusion, startup funding would have declined by 52% this week.
