President Trump said he would patrol the streets of the District of Columbia on Thursday night, amid his administration's efforts to crack down on crime.

"I'm going to be going out tonight, I think, with the police and with the military, of course. We're going to do a job," he told the "Todd Starnes Show."

Earlier in the day, a New York appeals court dealt a blow to Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday in finding that the roughly $500 million fine against Trump in his civil fraud case was excessive. The ruling upheld the judgment against the president and his sons.

The Texas House gave its seal of approval to new congressional district maps, and the state Senate takes up the effort Thursday. Trump is pushing for the new lines to give Republicans a boost of five seats in Congress.

The Trump administration on Thursday morning rolled out details of its trade deal with the European Union, setting its exports tariff at 15 percent. The EU has agreed to eliminate all tariffs on industrial goods imported from the U.S. and to widen preferential market access to U.S. seafood and agricultural products.

At the White House, Trump will sign executive orders at 3 p.m.
