U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro will provide an update Tuesday afternoon on Washington's crime numbers as the number of homicides this year in the nation's capital hits 100.

The press conference comes a day after President Trump declared a crime emergency in D.C. and announced that his administration is taking control of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and deploying the National Guard.

In an interview with Fox News late Monday, Pirro said the Trump administration's federal takeover is "just the beginning."

Despite the pressure, data shows crime in D.C. was down 35 percent in 2024 from the previous year, marking a 30-year low.

Pirro is also expected to announce the indictment of a Haitian gang leader.

The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
